Easter break in Dartmouth…

Easter was certainly not a classic weather-wise I think we’d all agree but for us it was great! The reason was that we got away to Dartmouth again for a much needed long weekend break. We stayed at Norton Park with our daughter, her partner & grand-daughter.

On Saturday we all took the higher-ferry across to Kingswear & then drove to Paignton for the day. It rained a bit & blew a bit but the sun came out & it was lovely..Lily even enjoyed a spot of sandcastle building & padding…well it has to be done doesn’t it!

Sunday was a beautifully sunny day even though the wind was cool at times & we went first to Slapton & Torcross, on to Beesand for a quick look & then Kingsbridge…all done in the morning…a whistle-stop tour for the benefit of the children! They’re not so familiar with the area & wanted to see the sights as it were. Saturday afternoon found us on Salcombe’s North Beach…with the tide out it was perfect for paddling & playing in the sand.

Dartmouth & all of the areas around were busy as it was a bank holiday but as always never busy enough not to be able to park easily or find your own ‘personal space’, just with plenty of like-minded folk enjoying themselves at Easter-time. Personally we can’t think of anywhere we would rather have been & the company was wonderful!! We’ll be back again soon, you can
count on it!
